Beyond exciting!

Sidiki says – I’m beyond excited (and deeply honoured) to be preparing for this incredible production in Stratford-upon-Avon!

This week’s rehearsals have been something really special — working alongside an outstanding cast, led by the legendary Kenneth Branagh. Truly a phenomenal talent and such a warm, generous presence in the room.

It’s also been amazing to collaborate with some brilliant musicians, including Sola Akingbola of Jamiroquai, and my old friend Kadialy Kouyate — a real joy.

And the show is already SOLD OUT… which is just incredible (even if a little frustrating for those who missed out!). Can’t wait to share it with you all.

The Swan Theatre, Stratford upon Avon

Kenneth Branagh stars in this bold new production of The Tempest, featuring innovative and dynamic musical voices from West Africa performed live on stage. Blending Shakespeare’s timeless storytelling with rich musical traditions, the production creates a powerful dialogue between cultures, bringing a fresh and resonant perspective to this classic work.
Sidiki Dembélé has performed and composed internationally with leading organisations including the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Royal Shakespeare Company. In his teaching, from hands-on workshops to annual trips to the Ivory Coast, he shares the depth, spirit and cultural roots of his music.

He will also appear in the evening performance of Sithunyiwe, alongside members of the Bantu Ensemble, presenting a new work by Mthuthuzeil November with music by Mbuso Khoza, Abel Selaocoe and Nduduzo Makhathini.
